Monchi | AS Roma Sporting Director

The sporting director of the giallorossi is the star of the Italian transfer window having signed 12 new players.

Not everyone knew his way of doing business but in this electric summer, we understood something more about his strategies. Monchi did marvelous things at Sevilla FC but the skeptical and suspicious were waiting to see what the Spaniard would have been able to do in the Italian capital.

The experienced sporting director has signed 12 new players to strengthen the roster bringing to Rome top stars like Pastore and N’Zonzi. Several other talents have joined the team as well and will likely bring Roma to new highs in the future.

Monchi spent approximately €140 million this summer. Di Francesco can be satisfied with his new jewels. The Italian coach has now a double team to play and a wide range of choices to cover every area of the field properly.

Justin Kluivert and Ante Coric are two exciting bets for the future. The Dutch is a force of nature. The son of the former Milan and Barcelona star will be redirected on the right offensive side competing with Cengiz Under for a spot in the starting 11. The doors of the field will be likely closed for the Croatian midfielder. Although his qualities are indubitable, N’Zonzi, De Rossi, Pastore, Strootman, Cristante and Pellegrini will sit him on the bench often. But Coric will improve this season even just training with his teammates on a daily basis. However, he has already impressed everyone with his great vision and a soft touch.

Monchi reshaped Roma this summer and even if Alisson and Nainggolan left the Italian capital the overall quality of the roster seems to be higher than ever.
