“It’s an important day for me. I would like to thank and hug all those fans that are as happy as I am,” Florenzi said during the press conference held together with the Roma sporting director Monchi.

“I am very proud of representing this city. From now on, I want to be an example for the players that we have now and for those that will join us in the future,” continued the Roman fullback. “I was a kid with a dream and I have grown into what I wanted to be, a man wearing the shirt of this club.”

Monchi seemed to be pretty happy as well.

“From the first moment, we were confident that it would end well albeit this was not a short negotiation. One of Roma’s sons has renewed his contract. One day, I hope to be a Romanista like he is.”
