Dzeko Silences The Stadio Grande Torino (Stats)

Edin Dzeko - AS Roma

The Bosnian striker makes a consistent performance and scores a stunner in Roma’s first Serie A away match of the season.

Edin Dzeko is the best player in Di Francesco‘s roster. No doubts about that! The Bosnia international is the authentic leader of the giallorossi on and off the field. After having passed through a very difficult first season, the former Manchester City man changed gear and his engine started running at full speed. Since then, the Roma striker has scored 74 goals in the Italian capital and yesterday he dragged his team to the final victory putting in the back of the net a stunner that left Sirigu without any chance.

His average position on the field is very important to analyze the reasons why he becomes irresistible. At the Stadio Grande Torino, Dzeko played right behind the Torino midfielder Ricon forcing Nicolas Nkoulou to move the backline ahead. By doing so, the Bosnian player won 3 fouls and widened the action towards the flanks winning 7 aerial duels.

Dzeko‘s main ability is to preserve the ball carefully even when he is fiercely pressed by the opponents. Remarkable is his passing accuracy in the opponent half (85.7%).

One of his two shots on goal stubbed the Torino goalkeeper, while the second hit the post after a great header.

The Bosnia international is a player able to help his teammates even in the defensive phase (clearances 6).
