The Dutch fullback seems to be finally fit and ready for the 2018-19 campaign. He wants to show his qualities to the fans and gratitude to the club after a troubled year.
He passed through a couple of serious injuries last season but now it is the moment to join the group and get a starter position in Di Francesco‘s team. Rick Karsdorp have suffered two knee issues in the past 12 months, right after his arrival in the Italian capital from Feyenoord. Nowadays, the Dutch fullback is training at Trigoria and wants to show his qualities to the passionate Roma fans.
“I feel like a new Roma player,” said Karsdorp to Roma TV. “The club demonstrated a great faith in me. They supported me in this period and now I really want to show all the fans what I can do.”
Kevin Strootman is a leader in the Roma locker room. The rocky Dutch midfielder is a point of reference for Karsdorp as well.
“Kevin is a top professional. He passed through many injuries as well and he knows what it takes to get through that and be fit again,” said Karsdorp. “It is great to have a few other Dutch players with us. Justin [Kluivert] is my roommate and it’s great because we can talk in our own language. Strootman is a big help for us because we are younger than him.”
