Barcelona Denies Interference in Malcom’s Deal

The sporting director of the Blaugrana Pep Segura is reportedly not aware of any negotiation between Barcelona and Bordeaux for Malcom.

The Malcom saga is officially on! As reported by Italian press and media, the agreement between Malcom and Roma was not yet finalized and Barcelona decided to present a €41 million offer to the French side.

The last-minute bid of the Blaugrana, however, has not been confirmed by Pep Segura, the sporting director of the Spanish giants. The manager has been contacted by Italian outlet ‘LaRoma24.it’ in reference to Malcom’s deal but he stated:

“I’m not aware of that. It’s not true.”

This is a real transfer market mystery that could be explained in two ways. Bordeaux is trying to make higher profits on the sale of the Brazilian jewel or the Barcelona manager is simply strategically covering the bid he presented to the French club.

On the Roma side, it is confirmed that Monchi and his collaborators are getting in contact with Bordeaux and the agent of the player to solve the issue. The Spaniard would love to see the Brazilian winger in Rome tomorrow for the mandatory medical examinations that could be rescheduled for the afternoon.
