Monchi is focusing on a couple of negotiations to lower the average age of the team strengthening the roster. Di Francesco would be happy with Kluivert and Berardi.
The Giallorossi are doing great things on the current transfer window. The sporting director Monchi is working on multiple tables to close sustainable and efficient deals for the sake of Roma.
Marcano‘s deal was necessary to give solidity and experience to Di Francesco’s backline but the real objective of the Spaniard is to find young and talented players able to make the difference nowadays.
After having signed Coric and Cristante this is the moment of Justin Kluivert and Domenico Berardi.
The Croatian youngster is a 21-year-old midfielder with a great vision and technique. He doesn’t have relevant experiences in the European football but his talent is recognized worldwide.
Bryan Cristante, instead, is a solid midfielder able to attack the enemy lines and score goals. Roma needs more productivity in midfield and the former Atalanta man seems to be the right player to increase the number of goals of the Lupi.
Justin Kluivert is a deal not closed yet. But the parties are working hard to finalize a win-win-win agreement between Ajax, Roma, and the player. Reportedly, Monchi increased the offer to sign the Dutch youngster and the negotiation is now in a pivotal moment. Although the agent of the left-winger, Mino Raiola, mentioned “the deal is not closed yet, the clubs are still not in agreement,” Kluivert’s future is colored of yellow and red. The deal could be finalized shortly and the player could even travel to the Italian capital this weekend.
Domenico Berardi is one of Di Francesco‘s top picks. The Italian coach loves the tactical acumen and technique of the right-winger. He trained him during his journey at Sassuolo. EDF is pushing Monchi to make an effort to sign Berardi. The 23-year-old from Cariati Marina (Italy) could be pursued at discount due to his fluctuating performances in the 2017-18 campaign. His wage is not an issue for the Lupi but Sassuolo is asking for €30 million. Monchi is not willing to go that far for the Italian winger. Reportedly, the Spaniard could approach Sassuolo offering a loan with the right to purchase the player at a later date but the NeroVerdi would prefer an obligation to buy. The negotiation is going on but Roma is apparently not willing to spend more than €20-25 million for Domenico Berardi.
Roma is therefore on the verge of signing other two young, talented and offensive players. The Lupi are working for a great future but with an eye to the present as well.
