Roma is close to signing the Italian midfielder from Atalanta. Gasperini is asking for Gerson and the Brazilian could be the right player to make this deal happen.
According to the Italian outlet specialized in transfer market ‘Calciomercato.it’ the Giallorossi have found an agreement with Bryan Cristante and with his current club Atalanta.
The team from Bergamo would cash €25 million from this deal while Roma would sign a talented midfielder able to score goals as well. Although the deal is almost closed, both sides are working on technical aspects.
Reportedly, three players could be included in this deal. Defrel, Gerson, and Tumminello are very much appreciated by Gasperini. Despite Defrel’s issue relative to his high wage, apparently unaffordable for a team like Atalanta, the player that could unlock this deal could be Gerson. The Brazilian midfielder needs playing time and an experience in Bergamo could be highly beneficial to him. Eventually, Roma would keep a redemption clause for the talented Brazilian in order to bring him back to the Italian capital in the future.
Reportedly, Bryan Cristante accepted a €1.5 million per year. Roma is very close to its third acquisition this summer after Coric and Marcano. The Spanish defender will land at Fiumicino airport this afternoon to undergo medicals.
