The Italian midfielder is happy to go ahead with Roma albeit rumors are linking him with several teams.
Lorenzo Pellegrini is the present for the Giallorossi but he could even be the future of the club. Although there is a release clause in his contract, the Italy international clarified that it doesn’t mean anything in reference to his imminent future.
“Having a release clause doesn’t mean that a player must change team every year,” stated the player at ‘Salone d’Onore del Coni where he was attending the ‘Premio Cultura Sportiva Beppe Viola’. “At the end of the season, we will meet with the club to discuss what we have to do. Anyway, I’ve always had clear in my mind what I want.”
Pellegrini also spoke about a possible career like those of Totti and Florenzi. “It would be an honor for me.”
Juventus is chasing the player but Monchi is not ready to let him go. Although the Bianconeri could trigger the release clause the giallorossi could offer a consistent contract renewal to the midfielder. The Spaniard will do everything possible to keep the player in the Italian capital.
The 21-year-old made 35 appearances with the Giallorossi this season. He scored 3 goals and 5 assists. Roma purchased him from Sassuolo on July 1, so17 paying a € 10 million fee.
