Roma president Jim Pallotta expressed his disappointment with Skomina’s decisions. Roma defeated Liverpool but the Reds got access to the UCL final in Kiev.
The Giallorossi played a great match at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday winning 4-2 against Liverpool. Klopp‘s men go to the final match on aggregate after having suffered Roma’s fury comeback.
Jim Pallotta praised his men but expressed his disappointment with the referee who underperformed favoring the British side. Skomina denied Roma of a double-penalty in the second half defusing the Lupi in front of their passionate fans.
“First of all, congratulations to Liverpool for the final match. It is clear that the VAR is necessary for the Champions League. It is absolutely unacceptable what we have seen today. I am talking about Dzeko‘s inexistent offside and the clear hand touch on El Shaarawy‘s shot. Their player should have got a red card. They would have played 10 vs 11 for 30 minutes,” stated Pallotta. “I understand that it is difficult to lead a match. Liverpool is a great team and they will play the final but the VAR is necessary,” concluded the Bostonian investor.
