The Italian coach praised his guys for the three points on the road against Cagliari albeit he admitted that his players are tired after an extenuating domestic and international campaign.
Roma left the Sardinia Arena with three points in the pocket almost securing a spot for the 2018-19 Champions League. Eusebio Di Francesco had to reshape his starting 11 due to the several injuries of his players after the tough European clash against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Although Cagliari bombarded the Giallorossi in the second half, Alisson Becker’s miraculously saves kept the final result sealed, 0-1. EDF praised the Brazilian star saying: “He has improved enormously. In addition to his technical ability, he’s got a great character. He gives everything for the team. I want many players to form part of an orchestra and he is one of those.”
Roma seems a team confident of its strengths but Di Francesco expects his guys to improve even more to reach great objectives in the future.
“I always talk about mentality. We made steps forward but now we have to dig even further,” stated the Italian coach. “We need is greater consistency in certain games.”
