The captain of the Giallorossi applauds Allegri’s side and pushes his management to do something more to make that necessary leap in quality to win the Scudetto.
The 2017-18 Serie A campaign is almost over. Although the Giallorossi will travel to Sassuolo on Sunday to play their last match against Di Francesco‘s former side, Daniele De Rossi already focused on the future.
“We should be proud of what we have done,” said the Roma captain to the Italian satellite channel ‘Sky Sport’. “We suffered a physical down in January but we lost matches because we have to improve.”
“How to reduce the gap with Juventus? It’s tough to talk about this because this is not my role in the club. In Rome, people talk about the transfer market all year round and we tend to blame the new ones. Many players need time to perform well. They should be evaluated after a couple of seasons. The economic power of Juventus hides some issue relative to their way to play.”
“Today, Douglas Costa entered the field 20 minutes before the end of the match. They have a monstrous arsenal and we cannot make mistakes on the field. We have to strengthen the roster to improve,” concluded De Rossi.
