De Rossi: “We Planted the Seed for Victory”

Daniele De Rossi - AS Roma

The captain of the Giallorossi is already thinking about the next season. Roma wants to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto after years passed close to the top of the standings.

There is a moment in which a team must make a leap in quality to maximize the efforts. The 2018-19 campaign could be the right one for Roma to properly face Juventus and possibly win the Serie A title.

Daniele De Rossi firmly believes the Lupi collected enough experience the past season and now it’s time to win. “I hope to win soon because I don’t have much time left,” the Roma captain said. His contract is set to expire at the end of the next season and likely Daniele will say goodbye to his adored club and city to try an experience abroad.

The upcoming Champions League final reminds us that Roma could have been in Kiev facing Real Madrid. The semifinal return match played at the Stadio Olimpico left a bitter taste in the mouth of the Roma fans. Di Francesco‘s crew almost made history by overturning a heavy defeat suffered at Anfield Road.

“We have been really close to the final,” De Rossi stated. “But we planted the seed for victory. Our foundation could be good for the next 10 years.”
