Roma qualified for the 2018-19 Champions League on Saturday thanks to Inter’s defeat against Sassuolo at San Siro.
Former Di Francesco team Sassuolo defeated Inter 2-1 at San Siro automatically qualifying the Lupi to the next edition of the most important European competition for clubs. Therefore, today, the Giallorossi can play against Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico without pressure hoping to celebrate a great victory in front of their passionate fans.
On the basis of the unexpected result in Milan, if Lazio will defeat Crotone at the Ezio Scida today, Simone Inzaghi‘s side will qualify for the Champions League as well kicking Inter out of the top European stage.
Juventus, instead, needs just one point to celebrate the seventh Scudetto in a row. Allegri would like to get it at the Stadio Olimpico albeit their last match in Turin could be the right one to do so.
Roma looks to finish third in the table ahead of the city rival Lazio. The 2017-18 campaign of the Giallorossi will end at Sassuolo next Sunday when the Lupi will face Di Francesco’s former club.
The club celebrated the qualification for the Champions League posting a video on Twitter.
