Manchester City Winks At Roma’s Cengiz Under

Manchester City lost him last summer but now Guardiola is thinking to make an offer for the Turkish talent, Cengiz Under.

Roma is flying in the Champions League and the value of its players is sharply rising. Thanks to a stellar UCL campaign, many Roma players are chased by football giants.

Just a few days ago, AS ROMA 360 reported Manchester United’s interest in Kostas Manolas. Nowadays, instead, rumors from Turkey are reporting that Pep Guardiola fell in love with Cengiz Under, the talented right winger of the Giallorossi.

According to ‘’ and as reported by the Italian outlet ‘’, some Manchester City emissaries were in Rome this week and showed new interest in the Turkish talent. Last summer, Roma’s sporting director Monchi snatched Under from the British giants. But Manchester City is poised to make a bid again next summer.

Roma is not willing to sell its jewel though. Monchi knows that Cengiz Under can become a great star in the future. The Turk is a pure jewel at this time but he has the potential to shine even more soon.

In the current campaign, Cengiz Under made 25 appearances scoring 6 goals and two assists. He is part of the Turkey national team since November 12, 2016, with which he made 8 appearances scoring 4 goals.

Roma purchased him from Basaksehir on July 16, 2017, paying a £12.06m. His current value, according to ‘CIES Football Observatory’ has increased by 70.7% to €35.5 million. Cengiz Under’s contract is set to expire on June 30, 2022.
