Roma on the road to Liverpool for the Champions League semifinal. The Roma coach spoke to the press ahead of the match.
No more than 24 hours to the UCL first-leg between two football giants. Roma will play Liverpool at Anfield Road on Tuesday at 2:45 PM (EST).
Eusebio Di Francesco seemed very confident in today’s press conference albeit he acknowledged that “Liverpool is a great team able to play vertically.” The Italian coach knows that the British side is different from Barcelona. “Their pace is different and we have to match it,” said Roma’s head coach.
EDF also praised Klopp for his career. “We are similar coaches but he has already demonstrated his qualities. I still have to do so. I love his football style. I appreciated him also when he trained Borussia. However, he will face a coach with a similar football approach. I’m happy of having the possibility to face him. We want the final. It’s going to be a great challenge,” said the head coach of the Lupi.
Mono Salah is Liverpool’s top threat for Roma but EDF clarified that “we do not prepare a match focusing on a single player. We care about the whole team.”
Although the Premier League could be in EDF’s future, the Italian coach is very happy of his current role in the Italian capital. “The Premier League is not my priority at this time. We’ll see in the future. It’s engaging to play and train in a British stadium,” concluded Di Francesco.
