Roma Faces Napoli To Reverse Predictions

Football pundits believe that Sarri’s men are going to crash the giallorossi. The Lupi want to change the cards on the table.

There’s no doubt that Roma needs a top-level performance and a bit of luck to leave the Stadio San Paolo undamaged. The partenopei are leading the 2017-18 Serie A playing excellent football and developing attractive offensive strategies. The Lupi are struggling to find an identity instead. Di Francesco is still trying to understand if 4-3-3 is the right tactical scheme for his team.

Stats are confirming the current big difference between these two teams. Napoli has won its last 10 Serie A matches keeping a clean sheet in 6 of its last 8 matches. But Roma is undefeated in 18 of its last 19 Serie A away matches.

Lorenzo Insigne could be the man of the match. The Italian offensive winger will face Florenzi on that flank and he could put the Roma defender in serious trouble. Taking into account the ‘WhoScored’ overall ratings, Insigne leads Napoli’s group (7.59) followed by Mertens (7.5), and Allan (7.31). Kolarov is Roma’s top performer (7.57) while Dzeko follows in the second position (7.35), and Fazio (7.19).

The Lupi have a greater physicality (Napoli: 179.2 cm vs Roma: 184.5 cm). Di Francesco’s men could exploit it trying to capitalize on set-pieces winning aerial duels (45% vs 62%).

Roma is the underdog today at the Stadio San Paolo. But with a perfect performance and a bit of luck, the giallorossi could reverse these predictions.
