Roma Dreams of Being Among the Best 8 in Europe

After having swept Torino away in the last Serie A match, the giallorossi are now focusing on the forthcoming Champions League clash.

This is the moment of the truth. Roma will face Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday to get to the next round of the Champions League. In order to do so, the Lupi need to defeat the Ukrainian side at the Stadio Olimpico.

The stadium in Rome will be crowded. Some 40,000 tickets have been sold so far. The giallorossi need to approach this match as they did against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo a week ago.

The Argentine winger Perotti was interviewed by ‘La Oral Deportivo’ and retraced the first leg match played in Kharkiv. “We had played very well during the first half and we could have scored more than a goal. But we lowered the pace in the second half and they seemed to be a different team”.

“I rested against Torino to be ready for the Shakhtar. It would be a dream to get to the quarterfinals. Although we start from behind, we just need a goal to go ahead” stated Diego Perotti.
“This match defines the rest of the season. The victory against Napoli was beneficial.”

Perotti also spoke about the imminent World Cup in Russia. “I am currently part of the Seleción. It’s a dream. I am working for this because my body is giving me the continuity that I was needed. I am thinking about Roma but also on my national team.”
