Roma’s CEO Gandini spoke at “Radio Anch’io Sport” about the current moment of the giallorossi.
Umberto Gandini analyzed the recent Champions League draw and Serie A successes. He also confirmed that Francesco Totti is a key element of the project.
This is a summary of what he said at ‘Rai Radio 1’…
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – “We are very satisfied because we reached an intermediate goal in a very difficult competition. We are going to play a match that many others dream about. This challenge is exciting and we will have a lot of pressure on us. Our minds will be free.”
DI FRANCESCO – “We passed through difficult moments, especially in December and the Christmas period. Then, we recovered. Our choice was made and we just confirmed it. We lost too many points from the first two [Juventus and Napoli], but they are making a stunning race. We are still in two objectives out of three.”
FIRST MATCH AT CAMP NOU – “The first match is very important. We want to score a goal and get back to Rome with chances for the second-leg match. We are going to play against a very strong team and one incredible superstar, Messi. He can suddenly change the outcome of the game. We have to pay attention.”
PALLOTTA & STADIUM – “We are making progress. In reference to the stadium, we are just waiting for the end of the bureaucratic process. We planned to break ground in 2018. Pallotta strengthened the club in different sectors. We are following the path we have planned to become the protagonist in the Italian and European football.”
DZEKO – “He is very important for us. He had an opportunity and we evaluated it. We choose to continue together. He is important for our plays. The team plays better with him, we are very happy.”
INVESTMENTS – “We changed to improve. Our results and performances have proved it. We have to keep following on this path. The economic factor is not the only important thing.”
TOTTI – “He is with us since the beginning of the season. He is making an important transition. He needs time. We are feeling great about him. He is close to the team, to Di Francesco and Monchi as well. He is providing his contribution and he is learning a few secrets.”
SCHICK – “He passed through a very tough summer with physical problems. He is improving, though. We count on him for the present and the future. It’s not easy to move from Sampdoria to Roma and make an impact.”
