Zenit Coach Mancini Predicts a Great Future For Cengiz Under

The head coach of the Russian side praised the Turkish talent that Roma pursued last summer. The Italian believes in Under’s qualities.




In a recent interview released to the portal ‘Trt Sport’, Zenit St. Petersburg Roberto Mancini spoke about the Roma talent Cengiz Under.

“He is really good, a youngster with a great future ahead of him. – said the Italian coach that is currently leading Galatasary. – Everybody speaks well about him. It’s not easy to play well in the Italian league.”

Roma’s sporting director Monchi pursued Cengiz Under from Basaksehir on July 16, 2017. The 20-year-old is a very talented offensive winger who prefers to play on the right side of the field. His contract is set to expire on June 30, 2022 but likely Roma will extend it soon.

Cengiz Under also made seven appearances with his national team (Turkey) scoring three goals. In the 2017-18 campaign with Roma, the youngster made 17 appearances scoring 3 goals and one assist.

His recent performances against Verona and Benevento were simply remarkable. The player made the difference and Eusebio Di Francesco now considers him a starter.
