Although December 2017 has been a tough month for the giallorossi, there’s still a chance to fill the gap with those teams at the top of the standings. Can Roma do it?

The Italian Serie A is a tough competition. Several clubs are racing for the Scudetto and many others are challenging for a Champions League spot. Although Napoli and Juventus seem to be the best-equipped teams in this 2017-18 season Inter, Roma, and Lazio are there ready to exploit their moments of hesitation.

The giallorossi lost contact with the Partenopei and the bianconeri in the last few weeks. In the last four Serie A games, Di Francesco‘s men won just the match against Cagliari dropping points on the road at Chievo and at the Allianz stadium against Juventus. The last disappointing home match against Sassuolo opened a crisis for the Lupi. In a moment of disillusionment and sadness, Roma has a chance to find the right path again.

January 2018 will be a very important month for Di Francesco and his crew, a group of talented players with eccentric personalities. On January 6, Roma will face Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico before heading toward Milan to face Inter at San Siro. The double clash against Sampdoria (January 24 and 28) will give us a better perception of Roma’s possibilities during this 2017-18 campaign.

Four important matches that can change the direction of a ship that is currently struggling in the middle of a storm. Will Di Francesco be able to lead his crew where the sun shines? It is tough to say. The giallorossi have the potential to enter the race for the Scudetto and the January transfer window can boost Roma’s chances.

The Lupi need a bit more creativity in midfield. Will Monchi be able to find the right players to strengthen the squad? We hope so. Meantime we have to wait and see without criticizing Di Francesco’s work but supporting his choices for the sake of the club.
