In the press conference ahead of the next Premier League match, Chelsea’s Head Coach Antonio Conte hides the cards and answers diplomatically.
There is something that cannot be unveiled, especially when negotiations are ongoing. Today, Antonio Conte held the usual pre-match press conference and received several questions about the double possible deal with Roma.
Although several British outlets confirmed that Chelsea would be even willing to raise its offers for Emerson Palmieri and Dzeko (€90m for both players), Conte closed the topic diplomatically.
“It wouldn’t be nice to talk about players of other clubs. I am not interested in rumors. We are in the transfer market window and you guys will be the first to know everything if something will happen. Nowadays, I can only talk about my players and their technical skills. I am very happy to work with my guys.
The club always asks my opinion to improve the roster but they make the final decision. They are in charge of the money and they decide how to spend it.”
Sky Italy have begun reporting this now – say Chelsea are in discussions for a €65m deal to bring in both Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri from Roma.
No Batshuayi as part of the deal, he’s still wanted by Sevilla and Fiorentina now too. pic.twitter.com/3YVYNXOEWq
