On Saturday, Roma defeated Cagliari with a goal scored during the extra time. The giallorossi kept a clean sheet, once more with De Rossi on the field.




Sometimes numbers can tell you the truth. Although they have to be properly analyzed, numbers are undisputable when they clearly highlight the efficiency of a player. De Rossi’s importance for Roma is blatant. The captain is a protective shield in front of the defense line.

The guy from Ostia played several matches this seasons and albeit a few weeks ago he got a just red card who led the Lupi to a disappointing draw against Genoa he is a key player for Di Francesco.

Let’s check the numbers together…De Rossi made 11 appearances this season between Serie A and Champions League. He hasn’t scored a goal yet but he partnered with Fazio and Manolas to keep the opponents away from Alisson.

He played 90 minutes in the first away match against Atalanta and Roma won 0-1. But this was only the first time that when he played the Lupi didn’t concede any goals. Below is a complete list that confirms this trend:
