There are undervalued players in the Italian Serie A. Chievo’s Sorrentino is definitely one of those. The Italian goalkeeper is the undisputed MVP of the match after having saved several shots from Roma. A player that would have deserved better stages during his career.
Although Roma played a very offensive match shooting on goal 26 times, Sorrentino rescued his team from an expected defeat. The giallorossi have demonstrated to be the better side on the field but Chievo luckily relied on the outstanding performance of its number one.
Sorrentino’s foot-save on Schick‘s deflected shot is a masterpiece to be shown to the young keepers around the world. His double rescue against Schick and Gerson during the first 45 minutes is another remarkable effort that must be publicly praised on national and international TV stations.
On Sunday, Roma was outperformed by Sorrentino. The Lupi dropped two points albeit they would have deserved the victory.
