Roma head coach Eusebio Di Francesco held a press conference ahead of the Serie A match against Cagliari. The Italian is confident in the qualities of his team.
This is the moment to reduce the gap with those teams that are currently ahead in the Serie A standings. After having celebrated an epic Champions League qualification and a positive draw (Shakhtar Donetsk), Roma needs three points on Saturday at home.
The giallorossi will face Cagliari at the Stadio Olimpico, a team in a great physical shape and with a good tactical confidence. Di Francesco knows that this match will be insidious but the Lupi cannot stop their race toward the top positions of the Serie A.
“I don’t know if we will be able to challenge on three fronts but it’s certainly one of our goals. My players must approach properly, regardless of the competition.
Even when I apply the turnover and I make five or six changes to the starting line-up, it doesn’t take anything away from our desire to win. My players must focus on Cagliari, then we will think about Torino and Juventus. We have to approach one game at a time.
After the match against Cagliari, we will focus on the next Coppa Italia game. We have to keep growing. We need to go forward in every competition we play in.”
