The Italian fullback is unhappy in Manchester. Roma‘s sporting director Monchi is monitoring the situation and reportedly talking with intermediaries.
Just a few weeks ago, AS ROMA 360 highlighted Roma’s interest in Barcelona‘s Aleix Vidal. The Spanish player is on Monchi’s list but a deal with the Blaugrana seems to be very difficult to reach.
The Lupi are screening the market to find a right-back able to replace Rick Karsdorp. The Dutchman will be out for an injury until the end of the season. Di Francesco would love to sign another player to properly cover that flank.
Reportedly, Monchi is now chasing the Italian defender Darmian. Although the player is owned by Manchester United, he seems to be unhappy there. Mourinho is not willing to give him playing time and Matteo is thinking about leaving soon. The January transfer window could be the right moment to finalize this deal.
The 27-year-old made only 9 appearances so far. He played a total of 653 minutes for the British side, not enough to be happy in Manchester. His contract is set to expire on June 30, 2019, and his current transfer value is €12.5 million but Roma could even make a lower offer if the player will force the club to trade him out.
