Roma‘s sporting director Monchi is reportedly chasing the Brazilian striker. Baptistao is a dual citizen with an Italian passport.
According to ‘Calciomercato.it’, Leo Baptistao could join Roma in the near future. The Brazilian striker is currently playing with Espanyol. In the current season, he made 12 appearances scoring three goals and two assists.
The player could be a viable option for the Lupi in order to replace Dzeko. However, the Italian-Brazilian striker is able to play as a trequartista or on the right flank as well.
Several clubs targeted the player as well. Southampton and Brighton are interested in him but also the Italian side Genoa entered in the race for the striker.
Although no formal contracts have been established yet, Monchi is monitoring the Espanyol man and he could be a name for the next transfer market session.
