Former Roma striker Dani Osvaldo unveiled his love for the good living and explained how he refused to come back when Jorge Sampaoli called him for Sevilla FC.
He was a remarkable player with a great talent, vision, and skills. However, in 2016, Osvaldo retired from football in order to give vent to his primary passion, rock music.
After having played with Fiorentina, Espanyol, Roma, Juventus, Inter Milan, Porto, and Boca Juniors the Argentine from Buenos Aires decided that his passion for football was over.
“When I was playing with Boca Juniors, I didn’t like gossip anymore. There was too much of it. I couldn’t even go out.”
Dani Osvaldo turned his back on football for a life of beer, rock music, and BBQs. what he said to Jorge Sampaoli is really funny. The Chilean coach was training Sevilla FC and called Osvaldo because he was in desperate need of a striker.
“I don’t care about what you do on and off the field. I just need a striker and I was thinking about you. – said Sampaoli to Osvaldo.
Boss, there’s the Cosquin Rock festival! – the player replied.”
Jorge Sampaoli understood that Osvaldo wasn’t ready to play anymore and gently answered: “Of course, I forgot it! You must go, you can’t miss it!”
