Roma is ready to extend Kostas Manolas‘s contract but the Greek defender could leave the club next summer thanks to a questionable buyout clause.
There are a few players that are ready to swear loyalty to a team for a long time but most of the others are happy to change club several times during their career.
Reportedly, Manolas will extend his commitment to the giallorossi until 2021. According to ‘Sky Sport Italia’, the defender will be paid €3 million per year plus add-ons.
Although this news is definitely positive for the Roma fans, a buyout clause on Manolas’s clause should frighten us. Reportedly, Monchi would like to set this clause at €40m. The agent of the player would be happier with a €30m release clause though.
This clause seems to be a revolving door. Manolas is a great defender very much appreciated worldwide. The top European clubs could easily cover that expense snatching the player from Roma.
Time will tell us!
