“These are two matches that we cannot compromise. We need qualitative plays and attention to defeat Sweden. We are not going to change our tactical approach even if this is a very important playoff.

I’ve always had confidence in our coach. There’s a very positive environment here. We will celebrate if the result against Sweden will be positive. Otherwise, there will not be happiness for us if we will lose.  We are always relaxed and concentrated before a match but then the result drives our mood. An eventual elimination from the World Cup would be an indelible stain on my career.

We need to show off our competitive nastiness in this match. We cannot be frightened by Sweden because it is a playoff. I wasn’t scared when I was 22 years old and I’ve played the World Cup final.

Sweden lost Ibrahimovic and this is an advantage for us. They are not an unknown team. A few of them are playing in Italy and Europe. The World Cup is important for me even if I’ve already played that competition three times. I am sure that it is important for them too moreover because they never qualified for it.”
