Napoli defeats Roma at the Olimpico Stadium after a match played with tactical acumen and great confidence.
Unbelievable performance by Maurizio Sarri‘s guys which dominated the scene against the giallorossi. A team perfectly positioned on the field and with effective offensive strategies. The Partenopei are a perfect machine at the moment.
Roma ends the 90 minutes confused and tactically outperformed by its opponents. The Lupi ran behind Sarri’s crew without catching the ball. Di Francesco‘s team needed a spark to flip this game over changing its pace but it didn’t happen. Instead, Roma terribly suffered Napoli’s rapid plays and verticality which cut Roma’s defense line more than once putting the Lupi in trouble.
Although Insigne‘s goal was triggered by De Rossi’s unfortunate back passage, Napoli left the Olimpico with three deserved points and the leading position in the standings.
A master performance for Maurizio Sarri too. His team reached a level of tactical perfection probably never seen in the Italian Serie A. The ball flows marvelously and the pressure on the opponents is continuous and efficient. The Tuscan coach shaped his squad as he wanted and as Guardiola recently stated, “Napoli plays the best football in Europe at this time.”
