A new shareholder meeting for Roma. The club needs fresh economic resources and they planned a capital increase that should be completed by December 2018.
Roma’s CEO Umberto Gandini unveiled that a capital increase will be necessary in order to support the economic activities of the club.
“The capital increase must be processed not later than December 2018. The method of payment can vary to reach a total amount of €120 million.
If this capital increase will be confirmed, it will be released after having performed a peculiar economic assessment.
The main shareholder will inject a maximum of €90m in the club.”
Roma is desperately hoping to build its new stadium after having presented several projects over the years. The municipality of Rome approved the facility but other bureaucratic procedures are delaying the beginning of the work.
The stadium would allow the club to boost its revenues dramatically. Only a few clubs in Italy had the possibility to own their own stadiums and those companies are collecting profits on a yearly basis.
