Roma’s creative and solid left bound

Di Francesco - AS Roma

The Serie A match against Benevento confirmed Roma‘s ability to develop its strategies from the left flank.

Although Kevin Strootman is still not in a perfect shape and Diego Perotti didn’t perform as well as he did in the last few appearances, Roma’s left bound creates dangers to the opponents.

Aleksandar Kolarov’s marvelous performance highlighted the ability of the Lupi to push hard from that side of the field. The Serbian is not the only player who deserves to be praised. The Argentine winger Perotti is the one who frees up space for Kolarov’s offensive propulsion.

Eusebio Di Francesco loves that his wingers move to a more central position. By doing so, they have a double way to develop the action. They could wait and serve the defensive backs right after their overlapping or they can shoot on goal.

Roma’s left chain worked perfectly so far. Kevin Strootman is the guardian of the left flank. When Kolarov and Perotti are ‘busy’ with their offensive efforts, the Dutch midfielder covers their backs.

The Lupi have great power on the flanks and Di Francesco wants to exploit it as much as he can.
