Roma‘s Cengiz Under is happy in the Italian capital even if the language barrier and the different traditions complicated his stay so far.
The Turkish talent made his debut for Roma on Sunday in the Serie A match against Verona. The player was a starter and played a convincing match at the Olimpico Stadium.
Cengiz Under knows that Eusebio Di Francesco believes in his qualities and he is ready to improve to catch a starter position on a weekly basis.
“I am really happy to have made my debut and I don’t want to stop right now. I was excited to play in front of our supporters at the Olimpico Stadium and I want to stay here for many more years.”
His first few months in the Italian capital have not been easy for Cengiz. He doesn’t speak Italian or English but this is something that he wants to change immediately. He is currently studying Italian because it is necessary to understand Eusebio Di Francesco’s directives.
“I know that he appreciates my qualities and I am trying to repay his faith. The match against Verona went well but I want to improve even more. I shouldn’t have missed that great assist from Dzeko.
The first period here in Rome was tough but now I am getting used to it.”
