Manchester City’s Aleksandar Kolarov is closer to Roma. The Giallorossi are negotiating with the British club and the latest news are positive.
The deal for the Serbian fullback could be sealed soon. Monchi, who targeted the experienced defender, is still in the negotiation phase with his counterpart in England. The Spanish sporting director knows that Kolarov could be the right player to insert in a defensive package that need more experience and competitive nastiness.
Reportedly, Roma is not far from the acquisition of the Serbian star who has played 247 matches with Manchester City, scoring 21 goals and serving 37 assists.
The former Lazio fullback would be willing to move back to the capital of Italy but the deal cannot be considered closed at this time.
Monchi is trying to lower the economic outlay, especially on the player side. The wage of the Serbian star is €4.5 million per season but his contract is set to expire on June 30, 2018. Even if the wage of the player seems to be an obstacle for the Giallorossi, that are not willing to pay that amount for a 31-year old defender, the expiration date of Kolarov’s contract is pushing the AS Roma sporting director to go ahead with this negotiation.
Supposedly, Manchester City set a €10 million price-tag for the player but the Italian side hopes to lower the demand of the rich British club.
Aleksandar Kolarov could join the Italian giants AS Roma soon. The clubs are currently negotiating the move of the Serbian star.
