Leonardo Bonucci’s recent departure forces Juventus to find a new centre-back. One of Marotta’s targets is Roma’s Kostas Manolas.
Juventus is screening the market for a new centre-back after Bonucci’s sudden departure to Milan. Although with Chiellini, Rugani, Barzagli and Benatia its defense line seems to be ok, the Bianconeri would like to bring someone else in too.
As reported by ForzaRoma.info, Marotta’s would like to sign Roma’s young defender, Kostas Manolas, who had previously been expected to head to the Russian Premier League to play for Zenit alongside former teammate, Leandro Paredes.
Italian newspaper La Reppublica stated that the Giallorossi have met with Juventus in a hotel in the center of Rome. Marotta and Monchi discussed about this deal but the Lupi are not interested in cutting the price.
Reportedly, Roma would be willing to accept an offer not lower than €40m for the player.
Kostas Manolas is a key player for Roma having made 131 appearances since joining the club in 2014. He is also a main player for the Greek national team.
