Roma targeted Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu this summer.

The Spanish international played a great season at AC Milan and returned to the British team at the end of the loan period.

The Rossoneri would be happy to keep the talented winger but Deulofeu’s future is on hold at the moment. The player is owned by Barcelona and the Blaugrana are considering whether to use the buy-back clause included in his contract (12 million euro).

Although the Spaniard hopes for a future far away from Goodison Park he has to wait to know something more from Everton and Barcelona. Roma sporting director Monchi has enquired about the possibility of signing the Spaniard this summer.

According to Di Francesco and Monchi, the Spaniard could be the perfect replacement for Liverpool-bound Mohamed Salah. The Giallorossi are ready to offer around €15m.
