AS Roma announced the signing of central defender Hector Moreno from PSV Eindhoven.
The 29-year-old has signed a four-year contract that runs until 2021. Moreno collected 79 appearances with Mexico national team.
AS reported on the official AS Roma website, Hector Moreno expressed his happiness for this deal:
“I am very happy to sign for Roma. This represents an important step up in my career. I hope I can show my individual qualities and contribute to the overall success of the team.”
AS Roma sporting director Monchi sealed his first deal for the Giallorossi. The Spaniard firmly believes that Moreno is the right defender for Roma.
“I was chasing Moreno for a long time, and fortunately now he can join us at Roma. This is a central defender with a lot of international experience, and he perfectly fit the profile we were looking for.”
Moreno has a huge international experience. He has played the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, and the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2015. Last season Moreno made a total of 32 league appearances for PSV, scoring seven goals.
Moreno is a centre-back but can also play on the left defensive flank.
