This transfer market window seems to be hectic for Roma. After Monchi closed a reach deal with Liverpool FC for the Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, the Spaniard is ready to bank another astonishing figure for the Greek defender Kostas Manolas.
AS ROMA 360 previously mentioned that the negotiations between Zenit and the Giallorossi could have triggered Chelsea’s “revenge”. According to the latest rumors from the U.K., the Blues will make a last-minute bid for the Roma defender.
Although recently several names were mentioned as Chelsea’s possible targets, Antonio Conte knows that Roma would be willing to accept a crazy offer while Napoli (Kalidou Koulibaly) and Juventus (Leonardo Bonucci) would not be easy to convince.
The Greece international is reportedly very close to Zenit St Petersburg but the Blues are hoping to derail the deal. Chelsea is expected to submit to Roma a last-minute bid of €40million (£35m) while Zenit’s offer is about €30m (£26m).
Although this offer would be phenomenal for the Giallorossi and for the same player, who could be happier to relocate to London rather than St. Petersburg, Conte is not sure to seal the deal.
In fact, rumors are stating that the contract offered by the Russian side to the player would be largely richer.
New info is expected in a few hours. Roma and Manolas should accept one of the two offers shortly.
