After having spent the last two seasons on loan at Serie A side Roma, Szczesny welcomes an opportunity at Arsenal.
Although the Polish goalkeeper said to be open to making a permanent move to Roma, he would also be happy of having another chance at his beloved British team.
A couple of years ago, the Gunner betrayed Szczesny. Wenger preferred Petr Cech to the Poland International that previously made over 150 appearances for the Gunners.
Szczesny told BT Sport:
“I’m an Arsenal player, I’ve always said I’d love to be back there.
Roma was a good chance for me to re-launch my career. I’m happy here. I’ve grown as a goalkeeper.
It’s a big statement to affirm that I’m the best goalkeeper in Serie A. I cannot compare myself to Buffon.
I feel at my best in terms of quality and consistency. I’ve played a great season so far.”
