Undoubtedly, the upcoming Serie A game between Chievo and Roma has a different meaning for the two clubs. Although Chievo avoided the relegation a few games before the end of the season, it’s probably not going to have that necessary adrenaline and stimulus to face a strong side like Roma.

The Giallorossi are starving for points. Napoli is closely following Spalletti’s boys in the third position of the standings and desperately wants to overtake them to get the direct access to the Champions League.

The previous four direct clashes were positive for the Giallorossi.

Since 2014, Roma and Chievo faced each other 6 times. The Lupi won four games drawing the other two. In 2014, Roma won both clashes against the Clivensi. 0-2 in the away match and 3-0 at the Olimpico stadium.

In 2015, Chievo was good enough to stop the Giallorossi drawing two matches (0-0 and 3-3). In the past season, the situation returned to be favorable for Roma who defeated Chievo 3-0 at home, thanks to the goals of Nainggolan, Ruediger, and Pjanic. In the current season, the first challenge ended 3-1 at the Olimpico stadium (El Shaarawy, Dzeko, and Perotti).
