RESULT Sports, a company specialized in digital communication and marketing needs for athletes, clubs, leagues, federations, associations, and sponsors, deeply analyzed the data referring to the digital fan base that the European football clubs collected in the last two years. The period under observation goes from March 2015 to March 2017. The two-year Facebook community evolution for European (Digital) football clubs in Brazil highlighted that Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG extended their fan community the most within the Top 15 football clubs.
Although 14 of the clubs listed registered a growth in this special ranking, there is a club that recorded a loss of supporters, AC Milan. RESULT Sports also mentioned that players are critical in a digital strategy because they act as brand ambassadors to target audience.
It seems to be very likely that AC Milan suffered a substantial reduction in the Brazilian fan base also due to the poor performances of the club in the last few years.
In reference to the other Italian clubs included on the list, Juventus sharply increased its Brazilian digital community and Inter increased it a bit too. AS Roma, which is listed at position No. 15 in this ranking, extended its digital fan base in Brazil in the past two years.
AS Roma 360 often reported that the club of Trigoria, thanks to the wise and meticulous work performed by Paul Rogers and his team, is working hard to expand its brand worldwide. Undoubtedly, the digital strategies that AS Roma is implementing are bringing great results to the club. The giallorossi had the second highest percentage growth on Facebook 2016 and are in the Italian Top 3 for absolute digital reach.
