Franco Baldini’s future is, once more, very close to AS Roma. James Pallotta will ask him to return to be the manager of the giallorossi.
In an article written on July 2016 by Matteo DeSantis for the Italian newspaper La Stampa, the precious bond between AS Roma and Franco Baldini was highlighted. In that period the third act of the professional and sentimental story, almost endless, between the giallorossi and Franco Baldini was going on. It was just a few days before that Baldini was back to work for the club of Trigoria but only as an external adviser to the president James Pallotta and on issues relating to marketing and sponsorships.
Franco Baldini rejoined AS Roma on May 2016, approximately three years after he left the capital of Italy to go to Tottenham Hotspurs together with Walter Sabatini’s jewel Erik Lamela. Last May, Baldini met Spalletti in Italy at the Tuscan coach’s restaurant and then, a few days later, he flew back to London where he had a proficient conversation with the Bostonian investor. In reality, the umbilical cord between Pallotta and his former general manager had never been completely cut. In the last three years of separation, contacts and relations between them were never interrupted. Baldini’s divorce from Tottenham, that took place a year ago, has done nothing but intensify this professional relationship once more. It is not a coincidence that when Pallotta began the consultations to hire Spalletti as a coach for AS Roma he called Franco Baldini to have his opinion. In Pallotta’s mind, after all, the desire to take back Baldini had never disappeared.
It is today’s news that the link between James Pallotta, Franco Baldini, and AS Roma is still solid and could even intensify in the next few hours. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, in the imminent meeting that Pallotta will have in London with the former general manager of the giallorossi, the AS Roma president will offer Baldini the possibility to re-enter in the club with a managerial role that has not been defined yet.
The precious bond between AS Roma and Franco Baldini seems to be indissoluble.
