Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman will reportedly be ready to make his return to the Lupi line up by the start of 2016.
The 25-year-old has struggled with knee injuries since his arrival at the Giallorossi in July 2013 and has required a number of surgeries, with his most recent operation occurring in August, though it seems like his road to recovery has been successful thus far.
According to the Corriere della Sera, the Dutchman recently met with his surgeon Professor Pier Paolo Mariani, who believes that the midfielder could make his return to the pitch in January 2016 as long as he continues showing steady progress.
Strootman hasn’t made a Serie A appearance for Roma since picking up an injury in last season’s 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on January 25.
