Manolas returns to Rome following international duty injury

By Joe Avicolli

Roma defender Kostas Manolas has reportedly left international duty with Greece after suffering an injury in training.

The 24-year-old was set to take part in his country’s upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Hungary, though he is now forced to receive treatment in Italy after picking up a knock to his torso.

According to Chiesa Di Totti, the Greece international suffered an injury to his ribcage and could be sidelined for a few weeks, as he almost immediately flew back to Rome to treat his injury.

This news comes as a blow to Roma, as the Giallorossi are already missing Leandro Castan and Antonio Rudiger in the defense.

In other injury news, it has also been reported that Seydou Keita is set to be out for an additional five weeks, while striker Edin Dzeko is fully fit and ready to play after accepting his Bosnia and Herzegovina call up for this international break.
