Garcia: Scudetto race isn’t just between Roma, Napoli, and Inter

By Joe Avicolli

Roma boss Rudi Garcia believes that multiple teams have a shot at winning the Scudetto this season despite reports claiming that the Giallorossi, Napoli, and Inter are the favorites to win it.

The capital city club currently sit in first place on the Serie A table with 23 points, just two points ahead of Napoli, Inter, and Fiorentina, as they prepare to face the Nerazzurri in Milan on Saturday and the tactician insists that several teams besides the top four will still have a say in the title fight before the season is over.

Garcia spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about Roma’s place in the battle for the Scudetto and commented on the possibility of Juventus making their way up to the top of the standings.

“Who are Roma more afraid of between Napoli and Inter? Let’s not forget that Juventus are the reigning champions,” said the 51-year-old.

“I don’t think that the fight for the Scudetto is only between Roma, Napoli, and Inter. There are also other teams that will have their say until the end of the season.”
