Can Falque be AS Roma’s biggest surprise?

Falque Iago

The 25-year old Spaniard had a great impact on the AS Roma pre-season matches. Iago Falque could be a great value for the giallorossi. Rudi Garcia believes in his potential.

There are many great players that every year change team during the transfer market sessions. Well known stars able to change the objectives of a team and to let a club make that leap in quality to win trophies. Then there are other players that must be slowly discovered but that may surprise even more of their most renowned colleagues.

Iago Falque could be AS Roma’s biggest surprise of the next Serie A and I firmly believe that Rudi Garcia already knows that. This is the reason why during the AS Roma summer tour the French coach decided to deeply involve him in the team. Falque played most of the matches and he impressed the fans for his rapidity, technique and ability to dribble. These are also characteristics that he has demonstrated in the past year at Genoa. The past season Falque performed incredibly well with the rossoblu. He played 33 matches, scored 13 goals and served 6 delicious assists. He definitely made the difference in the 2014-15 Serie A as well as his most celebrated colleague Dybala that, however, is a proper striker.

I would say that the world is fierce with those players that don’t have the press in their favor. Dybala is acclaimed as the new crack of the Italian Serie A and Falque is just considered a “secondary” player that still has to demonstrate to be efficient and good enough to play in a big team. Mysteries of football!

I firmly believe that thanks to his unpredictability, class, and sense of goal Iago Falque will soon conquer the hearts of fans and the front pages of newspapers. I am also happy that he joined the giallorossi and I reckon that Rudi Garcia’s module perfectly fits with his way to play. He will be able to consistently score and provide assists and AS Roma may have found a rare jewel.
