Roma captain Francesco Totti has revealed that he’s happy to still be playing as the capital city club begin their preparations for the 2015/16 season.
The 38-year-old, who has spent his entire professional career with the Giallorossi since making his Serie A debut during the 1992/93 campaign, admits that he’s still grateful to be wearing a Lupi jersey after all this time and insists that he still feels the same adrenaline and desire to perform well every year.
Totti spoke to Roma TV about the return to training for the 2015/16 season and commented on the feelings of excitement that come around every summer, no matter how many years have passed.
“The season begins, I’m happy,” said the Roma legend.
“I have so many seasons behind me but fortunately I’m still always here. I’m honored to wear this one jersey and I’m very grateful.
“Summer is always nice. When you’re on vacation, you don’t have to think about anything, but then during the last few days you start getting back into shape and you’re immediately ready to begin the new season.
“The adrenaline and desire that comes with being a footballer is always there.”
