Roma forward Gervinho is reportedly on the verge of joining United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira and could complete his transfer in the coming days.
The 28-year-old’s deal with the Giallorossi isn’t set to expire until June 2018, though it seems the like the capital city club are already looking to let him go and cash in on him this summer as they try to further strengthen the squad for the 2015/16 campaign.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has already agreed to sell the Ivorian international for a fee of around €13 million, with Al Jazira president Ammar Bashir apparently ready to visit Rome on Sunday to meet with the former Arsenal man and discuss personal terms before the transfer is finalized.
Gervinho, who arrived at the Lupi from the Gunners in August 2013, failed to be much of a help in Rudi Garcia’s attack during the 2014/15 season, having scored just two goals and provided five assists in his 24 Serie A appearances last term.
