Roma are reportedly set to sign forward Victor Ibarbo on a permanent basis in the coming months.
The 24-year-old, who arrived at the Giallorossi on a six month-long loan deal from Cagliari in January, had struggled to fit in with the capital city club upon his arrival due to an injury but has been impressive in Rudi Garcia’s squad as of late which has caused the Lupi to take advantage of their option to fully secure him beyond the summer.
According to Retesport, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini was originally wary of paying Cagliari’s asking price of €12.5 million for the Colombian international, though he is now apparently ready to splash out the full fee after the player’s promising performances in training.
Ibarbo is yet to score in his six Serie A appearances for the Stadio Olimpico outfit thus far, but managed to net two goals and provided four assists in his 13 league appearances for the Isolani before his departure.
