Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is reportedly looking to sign Olympique Marseille winger Andre Ayew this summer.
The 25-year-old, whose current deal with the French side is set to expire in June, has attracted the attention of multiple European clubs in recent months including Inter and Tottenham Hotspur, though it seems like the Giallorossi are prepared to fight for his services in the coming months.
According to Gazzetta.it, Sabatini is hoping to land the Ghanaian international on a free transfer once his deal with Marseille runs out, but may also be willing to splash out a considerable fee in order to beat out any competing clubs if necessary.
Reports suggest that the Lupi’s most fierce competition for his signature, however, will be the Nerazzurri, which means the capital city club could earn the upper hand if they manage to attain a Champions League spot next season.
Ayew, who came up through the Olympiens youth academy before beginning his professional career at the club in 2007, has scored seven goals and provided five assists in his 22 Ligue 1 appearances this term thus far.
